Opening a Fund at Amador Community Foundation
The Amador Community Foundation is dedicated to helping people achieve their charitable goals. We strive to simplify the fund-creation process, making it flexible and engaging for donors. We offer various fund types based on a donor’s unique needs and charitable goals.

Below are general descriptions of the different funds that can be established.
TYPES OF FUNDS
Find the type of charitable fund that best matches your unique needs. We offer a variety of giving options to meet the individuals needs of each donor.
DESIGNATED PURPOSE
Direct your gift(s) to a specific non-profit or multiple organizations. You identify the recipients you wish to benefit from your fund, our staff manages the ongoing distribution.
DONOR-ADVISED
Allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit, and then recommend grants over time. An excellent alternative to private foundations.
FIELD OF INTEREST
Target a favorite cause(s) without having to name a specific charity. You decide the purpose of the fund and we identify projects and organizations to impact your interests over time.
FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
Amador Community Foundation has the ability to support causes benefitting a community need or resource while the organization proves viability and sustainability. With this security, the organizers can receive tax-deductible donations for their organization that will be granted through Amador Community Foundation for specific community purpose in partnership with smaller charitable organizations operating under our 501c3 nonprofit status.
LEGACY
Amador Community Foundation believes leaving a legacy can start in your lifetime. It is all about living and caring about our community today. We hold growth-oriented funds to sustain ongoing community support for generations to come. We are glad to work with your Estate Attorneys, Financial Planners, Insurance, and Charitable giving professionals.
SCHOLARSHIP
Setting up a Scholarship Fund for a variety of disciplines can be a way to give back to your community or honor a loved one. Donors can choose to stay involved in an advisory role or name an advisory committee to assist in the selection of recipients. Our staff will handle the necessary paperwork and ensure scholarships are distributed in an equitable manner.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Short-term initiatives that serve a specific cause or community need may be fiscally managed by Amador Community Foundation as donations are collected and then granted in partnership with the defined charitable cause within a specified timeframe operating under our 501c3 nonprofit status.
UNRESTRICTED FUNDS
Unrestricted Funds offer the broadest giving options. They allow the Amador Community Foundation to provide grants where community need and impact is the greatest.
