"We give to remember"
Ken & Judy Gibson Ione
Funds contributed to the Foundation create community capital used to develop new programs and to meet changing needs in Amador County. For example, we are the first community foundation in the region to initiate an emergency response program to respond to individual and family crises, and to establish a fiscal sponsorship program to assist in startup of small volunteer projects.
As a donor, your contributions stay in the community so you can experience the results of your giving. Help us meet the important and unique needs of Amador County.

More than 200 Amador County non-profit groups benefited during the Foundation's first eight years with grants ranging from fifty to several thousand dollars. Memorials and scholarships managed through the Foundation also supported Amador County recipients.
Our donors have chosen the Foundation because:
We know our community. The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors which represents broad interests of the community. The Board's Grants Committee reviews all applications for funding so donors can be assured their charitable goals are achieved.
We provide accountability and tax benefits. The Foundation's portfolio is managed by the Board's Finance and Investment Committee using a professional financial management firm. A publicly available annual return is filed with the IRS. As a 501(c)3 public charity, contributions to the Foundation are eligible for the highest available tax deductions. Donors often find those tax benefits outweigh using personal assets to establish their own private foundation.
We make it easy to contribute. A fund can be established in a single meeting to determine the donor's desires and most suitable way to accomplish them. We manage all administrative and grant making activities. Your gift can be unrestricted, or designated for your favorite interests; it can be recognized or remain anonymous.
Every contribution helps. No amount is too small or too big. Donor funds are the basis for many Foundation programs, and often are a beneficial philanthropic tool for contributors.
An endowment fund may be a way for family members to sustain their legacy. Business owners can manage charitable giving with a donor fund and then direct requests for donations to the Foundation. A community group could honor a member with a memorial fund. Nonprofit agencies may establish their own endowment funds with the Foundation for security.
By establishing a fund, or contributing to existing programs, you know your gift is in responsible hands and will benefit the Amador County community.
The Foundation has been successful in creating a way for local people to give back to our wonderful county. Join us today to help meet the challenges of changing times in Amador County. For more information, contact the Foundation at (209)223-2148.
